Sending Happy Birthday Wishes to Comic Book Artist Paul gulacy

Comic Book Artist/Illustrator Paul Gulacy, photographed in his studio in Portland, Oregon, for the Artist Within: Book 2

It is the middle of August, so hard to believe, the year is just rushing by! I just wanted slow down and take a moment to send Happy Birthday wishes to Comic Book Artist/ Illustrator Paul Gulacy!

If you have been anywhere near comic books for the past 50 years you know Paul's work.

"Paul Gulacy is an internationally acclaimed comic book artist, Trained at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Pratt institute in New York City, Paul has also worked in magazine illustration, animation, and for the some of the most high profile advertising agencies. His trademark action packed cinematic style can be found in such titles as Shang Chi: Master of Kung Fu, James Bond, Star Wars , Batman and many others. His Amazing book, "Spies, Vixens and Masters of Kung Fu", is a rich retrospective study of Gulacys extensive career catalog of drawings and paintings."-The Artist Within: Book 2

I have loved Paul's work since I first became aware of it in Marvel Comics "Master of Kung Fu". A few years ago when I was working on my second book of portraits I managed to talk Paul into letting me make a portrait of him in his Portland, Oregon Studio for my "Artist Within" project. This guy has not lost a step, his new work is still incredible!

Happy Birthday Paul!

Greg Preston

"Sharon Sampsel & Greg Preston graduated from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and had the good luck to pick Las Vegas as the up and coming place in which to open their studio. Riding the wave in as Las Vegas came into its own in the last 30 years has been a blast for these two partners. Although they concentrate mostly on Resort and Casino work, Being in a town like Las Vegas gives them the opportunity to shoot just about everything, which is fine with them."
